Adult residential care in a family home
Through our Family Model Program, caring and compassionate host families open their private, single-family homes to provide full-time residential care, including room and board. Our Family Model Program is essentially a form of adult foster care.
It is for seniors and adults with physical, intellectual and developmental disabilities who are not able to live by themselves but would prefer to live with a host family in a private home. One to three adults live together with a caring family in a warm family environment.

What life in the home includes
- A private family home. Full-time room and board with a host family, in a home shared by up to three adults.
- Help with daily living. Assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and medication administration. Host families are available around the clock to provide support.
- Companionship. A smaller, more intimate setting that encourages socialization and meaningful relationships, reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness.
- Independence and dignity. Personalized care that promotes independence and quality of life.

How is an adult care home different from a larger facility?
Our adult care homes are private, single-family homes. A host family becomes the primary caregiver, and one to three adults live in the home. It is a smaller, more intimate setting than a residential facility.
